Rotary member and youth lead Joycelin Hoyland interviewed on Radio Shropshire today by Clare Ashford
She explained to Clare about how the club is very active in their fundraising, and have supported many good causes since the club was founded in 1987, and that we are looking forward to some special events.
The club continues to support the Grange School, Barnabas Food bank, the Shrewsbury food hub and many other groups who have approached us for funds.
The club is very grateful to Dyke Yaxley Accountants for their huge support each year with help to reach past donors to our tree of light, which is now featuring on our new web site . Please check it out.
Probably the thing that people know us most for is our Santa Sleigh we do each December. we go out with the Sleigh to the streets of Shrewsbury and at major supermarkets, and we are very grateful for their support in allowing us to put the sleigh outside their doors, bringing joy to hundreds of children, and adults alike, and raised over £7000 last year
Joycelin also mentioned our project at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospitals brand new ward block. It will be a terrace garden that will be for the use by patients relatives and staff from the oncology and intensive care. This project is the largest one the club has undertaken and the President John Callwood is very pleased with the progress thus far.
