All Welcome to Club Meeting on October 13th
06/10/2026
As the club looks forward to celebrating its 40th anniversary, Shrewsbury Severn Rotary has announced the ‘special evening’ on October 13 at its regular meeting hub, The Beaconsfield Club, Meadow Place, Shrewsbury.
The unique meeting, which will start at 7.00 pm, is free to residents, professionals and volunteers who want to network, make lifelong friends and give back to the community.
Said organiser Rotarian Ray Walker: “Attendees will be given an inside look at the club’s major upcoming community campaigns.
“Key presentations on the evening will highlight progress on the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital Critical Care Sky Garden, an inspired project designed to give recovering patients a healing natural space.
“In addition, preparation for the club's beloved Christmas Santa Sleigh.”
Refreshments will be available and to assist with catering arrangements Ray added that interested attendees should make an advance booking to membership@shrewsburyrotary.co.uk
Said president Johnathan Callwood: “The open evening is timed to fit in with our entry into a modern new era.
“We are making important strides forward with our digital presence and recognition of the need to use technology moving forward.
“As a result, we have seen a wave of diversification which has led to the club recently welcoming its youngest member at 33. This has happened alongside appointing a new leadership group to imaginatively expand the club’s community footprint.
“We constantly strive to be an extremely active, hands-on organisation which appeals to a wide range of people. At the same time, we also place a massive emphasis on fun and dynamic fellowship.”
Added the president: “Whether you want to help us manage high-profile classic car events in Shrewsbury Quarry, design hospital gardens or spread festive joy with our Santa sleigh, there is a place for everyone in the club.
“We invite the town to come and have an evening with us, meet the team, and see what we are all about.
